Well, you posted this in the OP.
I am trying to find the link for this lift as I am tired of the Duster falling off the jacks. The other night it fell again. Both times as a result of the car shifting on the way up. This time there was no damage and scared the hell out of me.
IMO, this is where the comments are coming from.
If the car is falling, you are going about it incorrectly.
I use stands and a floor jack all the time. What I do is jack from the center, under the K frame and lift both front wheels at once, place my stands and move to the rear, jack under the center of the diff and raise it, place stands.
Once you do this, then you can move back to the front and go up a little more, and then to the back.
You CANNOT jack one corner or one side, place a stand and then move to another corner or the other side,
the car will shift. Once the car is up on stands, all four corners, I give it a good shake to make sure it's stable before crawling under it.
I know this doesn't help in the search for a lift, but if it's only going to be used minimally then it seems like a big expense to me.
A good heavy lift floor jack and 4 good, tall, heavy stands will get the job done.
