duster dome light wont turn off

hi i have a '73 duster and i just got a new done light and it wont turn off. the map light switch doesnt affect it and when i disconnected the door jam jamb switches to take em to fine new ones it didnt affect it either and when i took the door jamb switches the driver side had 2 blade style connectors but on the driver side it had a bullet style connector. ive seen a couple threads where someone had this problem but they never say what it was.

Make sure you have the correct bulb, #1004

You DO know about the switch on the headlight switch?

Try rotating dash light dimmer on the headlight switch to dim the instrument lights and see if it goes off. 67dart beat me to it.
