Early A guys - I need a measurement for a console shifter!

I'm in the process of converting my column shifter to a floor one - In the interest of keeping things close to the way they should be can anyone give me some type of measurement to the shifter? rear seat or something on the firewall?

Thanks - I only have the shifter and no console yet so if its possible could I get a measurement to the actual shifter rod?
