I'm having a little trouble keeping exhaust manifold gaskets in my 440. It has headers.

I need recommendations for: (1) what would be a good gasket to use; and (2) any other installation suggestions to make the gaskets last longer?

The headers do use a special, small-head bolt in a couple of spots, and these are hard to get as tight as the other bolts.

try some allen head bolts where you are having issues.

copper gaskets, ROL, and cometic have all worked well for me. iirc ROL's are the lowest cost and never burned out.

Try TTI's GA-HG24-440-2 gaskets and they recommend thin layer of high temp blue silicon on both sides. Available at Mancini Racing for $22.95 :sign10:

Also try a 3/8 wrench 12 ARP stainless header bolts, ARP-400-1211 at Mancini Racing for $36.95

Well I don't know if you mean header gaskets or really exhaust manifold gaskets. You need header gaskets either way.

Thats my two cents
