I am putting together a 426 smallblock and I am looking for a carb.
RHS/Indy heads with bowl/guide work, 2.02s, 5 angle, and undercut.
224/236ish roller cam
~10:1 compression

I was thinking of this one...

Anyone have any experience with them? Are they good? Crap?
Suggest going to the 850 annular?
Think I need a choke?

Opinions?

This motor will be street driven daily in the warmer months, but I may use it in colder months occasionally.
I dont anticipate more than a 5800-6000 rpm redline on the street.

I have heard good things about Quick Fuel. Whatever you get, I would recommend annular. I've got an annular Demon on my 440 and I think the annular boosters really help response and low end grunt. If you aren't going to drive the car in temperatures below 40, I wouldn't bother with a choke. My annular Demon starts right up and it doesn't have a choke.

Yep, That one's an annular.

Looking like I should really go with the 850 annular. But that has no choke.
Let's say though, that I decide I want to take my truck somewhere when it's cold. let's say a 20 degree day!

Would it be a PITA to start? Would keeping the engine warm with a heater help? What would help me get it started if it was being stubborn?

Would it fire up with a couple shots of ether?

I run an 850 with no choke and I am very pleased with the way the car runs. i do not know about 20 degrees, but at 40 to 50 degrees, my car would start with 2 pumps.

big small block i would use something bigger then a 750 cfm...
