Last week I lived five of the best days of my life, thanks to Keith and Pete (66340Sedan and FISHYPETE.) I met their friends and saw many things, but what I gained more than anything is becoming closer friends ourselves. Keith has many photos to share too. Here's a start, all these were taken at a car club member's home...what a place!

I've heard nothing but GREAT things about Keith and Pete! Great photos...keep sharing.

What car is that at the bottom of the stairs in the first picture? I can't make out that back end.

Pete's very well-established car club the Pan Towners had a big meeting. Pete drove there in his '72 Fury and I rode with Keith in his '74 Satellite 340(!) I got to enjoy Minnesota food that was laid out on tables, and talk with many really interesting, friendly people. Keith and I went outside to see the members' beautiful cars and the late-summer sunset. How 'bout that boat tail Auburn?

I got to meet the owner of the Auburn, who has collection of rare cars housed on his property, and who graciously agreed to give us a tour the next day. Memike went to his place last year and can attest to this man's encyclopedia knowledge of the cars and artifacts he owns. St. Cloud was to be a major automobile manufacturing center; The Pan Car was built there only from 1917 to 1919, allegations of fraud led to the company's early demise. The pictures we took there give an idea of the caliber of collection, as well as showing why St. Cloud is known as The Granite City.

On the wall behind this black Lincoln is the sign that was on the Pan Motor Company building.

1953 Kaiser Dragon, only 1277 made. They called the upholstery texture "dragon skin" and the badges are gold-plated. Expensive as a Cadillac but very underpowered.

David, Looks like a great time to ME!! That garage is its' own car show...Love the wash bay.

Had the pleasure of meeting Keith & Pete last year. "Minnesota Nice" is real :D Their hospitality was amazing....

Here are some pictures when Pete took out his 59 Sweptside, and took a drive around the area. After these pictures were taken, I went back to Pete's house to make supper (fresh MN corn on the cob and Goulash) while David and Pete went to put gas in the truck and go for a cruise....and guess who got to drive...yup, David! I think both David and Memike have both driven that rare truck more than I have LOL!!

Thanks Keith for posting those, I think that was just about the most perfect day I could ask for. Just look how beautiful the surroundings around us were that day. Pete's Sweptside is was really cool to feel the way it drives, and not easy to restore properly like it is! Pete is good at writing with chalk on driveways too. That goulash you made was so comforting. Remember we had it again for lunch Monday, last meal of my visit....

He's also a good tour guide.....remember this is where he showed you where we keep the loch ness monster.....but somehow I missed it when I snapped the pic LOL

Here are more pictures from our good friends house not far from Pete, Jim (FABO member moparsquad) was nice enough to let us tour his place....after the tour we had a few cold ones, his wife cooked an amazing supper for us then later we sat in the shop telling stories while listing to classic rock on a vintage jukebox....the fist pic in this set has a 70 440 six pack Charger thats awaiting a full restoration....hopefully he gets to it before that tree gets any bigger! These were only the pics taken outside at his place, the "inside" pics will be posted soon.

99% of the pictures i'm posting David took with my camera, his camera battery went dead and he forgot his phone charger on the east coast lol.....

And it was very cool to hear the stories behind all the cars, many of them Pete helped Jim to get and bring to his place. You really get an understanding why these guys would not want to live anywhere else.

Thanks! It was a vintage dune buggy with Mustang tail lights

The Minnesota Nice days I had started with coffee-to-go from the friendly little store around the corner, that Memike remembers, and the nice blonde lady there definitely remembers Mike who charmed the pants off her (not literally, that's a saying!) The first morning, Keith and I strolled all around Munsinger Gardens, that is on two levels next to the Mississippi River. It's tended by volunteers and it's free. A bronze sculpture of a older man pushing his wife in a wheelchair, is of the couple who gave the park to the city, somehow I didn't get a photo of that but you get the idea of the character of people who live in St. Cloud.

These butterfly flowers or Cleome made me happy to see as they were a favorite of a friend who's passed on who was a big influence in my life.
