Fender Sealant?

I'm getting ready to reinstall my front fenders. What type of caulking / sealant should I use between the fender lip and the inner fender panel? thx matt

Early builds used adhesive backed foam tape, weather stripping. It would keep the dirt out, would allow water to wick in and out. Later builds had a bead of caulk. I can't testify which is better.

Something else that would work well and a lot cheaper is this stuff that was recommended to me for plastic sheet that seals inside doors behind the interior panels.

Both of the 69 barracuda & 74 challenger I did had the foam between the fender & the inner fender. When you buy a body paint kit the foam sealant for the roof rail is the same. Not sure if you can buy that by its self.

3m string caulk. Never gets hard and keeps dirt water out.

X3 on the 3m strip caulk. easy to work with, paintable, and does a great job.
