Oh my god. I would be devistated to say the least. Any idea what started the inferno? Feel sorry for your friend.

Insurance is important. I keep fire, theft and vandalism insurance on the wife's Dart and my Barracuda when they are not being driven. Costs about $6 a month.

Having renters insurance above the basic policy ($125 a year) bought us a house after the house we were renting burned.

yes he was burning trash about 150 feet away and it was in a fire pit but somehow the leaves got on fire he was in the other shop work and hear abig pop a tire blew out he said he was in there no more than 5 minutes and wow its was over

That was one hot fire, if you look at pic #8 it looks like an aluminum rim melted off that rear axle.
Aluminum melts at 1200 deg F.
I had a house fire years ago I feel his pain.

That sux. Last Saturday, I just redid my insurance with Hagerty....they really wanted me to put $15,000 on the 66' Barracuda, and $9,000 on the 71' Scamp. They told me that it was a guaranteed amount based on the years, market (previous sales) and condition so that if they were totaled, I would receive the full amount. A small part of me is concerned that it's just such high amount so that they will never have to total them in case of a medium amount of damage. Those amounts with no deductible cost $325/yr for coverage.

This is terrible. I saw the other post you put up, but didn't know where the pictures came from. Glad he and his home are OK, but he must be devastated. What a shame to lose them that way.

I somewhat feel his pain but only lost one a few years ago and it wasnt to a fire it was to a 100ft plus oak tree down the center. 1974 Gold Duster 360 4speed Fold Down Backseat Sunroof and every factory option you can imagine. But after being destroyed it made the back of MOPAR ACTION in 2004.

That will buff out.

Hope it was insured.

Buddy of mine had the neighbor's tree fall right down the center of his '69 Valiant. Atleast the insurance paid up and he kept the car...I see parts of that car on my '69 Valiant and another buddy's (and now the guy's brother-in-law) '69 Valiant. Yeah, kinda like accidental "Car Incest" around here.

Nope no insurance had only been a week since I had traded a guy a 1967 valint 2 door post for it. He brought to me all the way from oregon. and will dig out another pic before it was crushed later today.

WOW. What a loss. That is all I can say.
