Front yoke shaft on 727

I've just about finished with drive train on this 72 swinger. 340,727,8 1/4 installed.Drive shaft had to be shortened. Now with car sitting on the ground,everthing buttoned up,there is 2" of the front slip yoke shaft exposed. Can anyone tell me if too much was cut off or will this work ? Thanks !

Is this with the balloon type trans tail seal or the aftermarket thats flush with the back of the tail end?

It has the aftermarket flush type seal
