Just put the new tank in and think I may have plumbed it wrong! It cranked a ran for a minute then quit, I opened the gas tank and had a lot pressure in it! This 71 duster has a 3line fuel filter on it, I have never seen one. Should the vent tube go to the fuel filter?

Was it a lot of pressure that blew air out, or that sucked air in (i.e., a vacuum)? Leave the cap loose and try to see if it willl run longer. If so, then yes, your venting is wrong. Fix it or you can collapse your tank.... you're lucky the engine stopped.
