get rid of points?

Probably the easiest electronic ignition kit around. They just work!
Ignitor

Yeah you can. But points work very well if in good condition. There's little to gain as long as everything's in good shape.

Points are like solid lifter valve adjusting. Its keeps you engaged in your engine upkeep. Its far easier to change points out than troubleshoot an electronic ignition, especially on the side of the road. Not saying that will ever happen, its just KISS.

I've done post 2 ,broken down on the road....Points,suck.......

Pertronix, got them in my Comet and my Barracuda.it is a nice conversation in Mopar, gets rid of the ballast resistor. The P3 has built in RPM limiter. Lots of other tech out there too------

can go numerous ways.. pertronix is cool.. can keep your stock dist with that, can easily go with a factory style electronic ign set up which is an easy swap.. or go HEI in any number of ways.

I had an older Chrysler I had done the pertronix with good results too.

The reason I had opted out of the points set up on my Barracuda was frankly it's getting hard to find them around me.
No more walking into any local parts store on a whim for them these days.
