whats the best way to get the front windshield and back windsheild trim off of a 1974 duster looks like its on there with that black tar/glue stuff

If you mean the one down the side, I just pulled it off of my 74 and used some paint thinner on a rag to get the stuff left behind off of the side.
Keep in mind I was going to paint my dart anyway so I wasn't concerned with not doing something to the original paint.
But it didn't hurt the paint and you couldn't tell the stripe was ever on there when I got done.

Try using a heat gun or hair dryer on low.....gently.....slowly.....carefully.....to soften the tape, then use a plastic putty knife or scraper to get under an edge and lift it off. That's how my son shaves his cars and he worked in a body shop for a couple years.

ya this stuff must have been taken off at one time it was glued on with some silicon and only a couple of clips had been reused that trim is such a BEOTCH to remove
