Hey all,

looking for a good manual steering box, preferable quick ratio steering box, and possibly a B body pitman.

looking for one ready to bolt in. (not sloppy, or needing rebuilt, or leaking)

I know i'm being picky on the A bodies site, but we get so much more traffic over here i thought i might get lucky.

Have a generous PM for one with standard ratio. May consider, but would really like the 16:1, or I believe there is a "middle" one..

Thanks all. This is going in the twin turbo b body build...Not sure if I can do a 24:1

I have a 16:1 manual in a SB 68 Barracuda. I like it a lot except when parking.
If you want to get an idea of the feel, just drive around with the PS belt removed. I did that for about 3 yrs and when I finally got around to putting in a real manual box, there really wasn't any perceptible difference in effort (same ratio as PS box) I don't think I'd want one in a B body though.

Yes there is/was a 20:1 worm gear set availabke from Direct Connection which is right in the middle of 16 and 24. You can get them from the 2 companies that rebuild the Chrysler boxes. Steer and Gear?

I'm assuming you realize there are new 16:1 manual boxes available? Cast iron housing instead of die cast aluminum.

You might want to call Firm Feel. They rebuild then to 24, 20, or 16:1 IIRC. If you get their special pitman arm I think you can get down to 12:1

Yes I do realize I can buy one of the iron ones on for around $200. Just figured I would see if someone had a good aluminum one they would be willing to part with...for reasonable.

Thanks! May end up going the new/offshore/iron one if No one chimes in.
