My 340 is supposed to be going into the dyno next week after spending over nine months at the engine shop. I'm really curious what it will make. Why doesn't everybody take a guess and when it finally happens I'll list the numbers and a video of the pull.

The winner gets my everlasting respect!

Here are the specs:

340 + .030
stock stroke steel crank
worked stock rods
11.77:1 compression
Ported W2 econo heads, 2.02 and 1.60 valves
1.5:1 HS roller rockers
Ported Victor Jr. intake
Holley 750 HP Pro carb
TTI 1-7/8" headers
Solid custom grind cam, dual pattern (I'm guessing on the exact specs since the engine builder has the cam card. I will update this tomorrow, but this should be pretty close)
Intake = .570 lift and 248' @.050", 108 CL
Exhaust = .548" lift and 260' @ .050", 110 CL
MSD ignition

The engine is going into my 71 Duster
3150# w/ driver
Manual shift 727 and 8" Cheetah TC
8.75 axle w/ 4.89:1 gear set

Ask any questions and I will try to answer them before the dyno pulls.

Thanks.

Congrats! Looks like a great engine. Without head flow numbers & non specific cam specs.....i'll go 470hp. I know that number is conservative, but that's just who I am :).

I will say that there's huge potential with that combo.....and then there's the dyno correction factor? I just hope you make me look like a fool and post a nice fat number. :D

Good Luck, and enjoy your time on the "pump". :thumbrig:

You should have a real nice screamer on your hands IF the heads were executed correctly. I'll wager a 490 @ 6900 rpm and 430 ft/lbs @ 5500 rpm. J.Rob

I have the updated cam specs.

Intake = .564" lift, 247' @ .050, and 106 CL
Exhaust = .548 lift, 256' @ .050, and 112 CL
109' LSA

The heads flow 314 on the intake side and 295 on the exhaust at .600 lift

It will be run on an engine dyno.

Hey "V", please post the dyno sheet when you get her done. I don't doubt my 470 pick could be low, but I'd love to see the power "curve" with those heads & cam.....

I'll say....uhhh....520 H.P. 465 Tq. Gawd, those flow numbers on the heads look great.

Ok, 6 7/8. But I think that's on the high side.

not sure how much $ you spent.
My limited experience says $ spent reflect your hp #s
Best of luck w your new motor.
Darrell

In excess of 525hp and 450 ft lbs of torque at the flywheel , 20% less if it is a chassis dyno
