Hi gang! I have really nice condition factory door mirrors but the driver's side has a problem. It has lost it's stamina (for lack of a better term..caution..no Viagra jokes!) What I mean is that as I am driving down the road the mirror looses it's adjustment from the wind. Inside it has nothing but a swivel mount (no set screws or anything to tighten up). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to improve it's resistance. For example, a heavy weight grease or some type of abrasive material (polishing compound etc) down into that swivel ball might make it better?

Any ideas or do I just need to find a new/better one?

I found one on Ebay for $145 plus shipping (Ouch!) And even then, there is no guarantee it is going to work better than the one I already have. So I am really hoping someone has a good idea. I was thinking about maybe some type of a shim?

If the mirror is no good you could take out the glass and see about tightening the metal strap that holds the ball tight and get some more mirror cut. You have nothing to loose. I did this to my Demon mirror even though it's held in slightly different.

I actually wrote an article on fixing those but the magazine wasn't interested. I did them on my '65. You can take the mirror apart and fix it really easilly...

Thanks, I think I will try that, but I also PM'd Mopar head about his.

Although it seems like the least of my problems since I blew out the gears in my rear end today (long story, for another post).
