Checked the date code on my spare that was in the dart and kind of think I know what it means, but not sure. It is DOT GXE6 (then in a raised oval)W53379. From what I found elsewhere it was made in the 37th seek of a year ending in 9. Correct? any way to tell what year? It is a TOYO 13 inch bias ply, "E-31" (model of tire, I assume) "155-13/6.15 13". Yes, I have replaced the spare tire and wheel with a 14" rim and new tire.
Thanks
Aaron

Beginning in 2000, DOT required a 2 digit year code. The tire in question was made in 1999, 1989, or 1979 the date code was a single digit. If the tires are made in the 1990s, a ⌂ (triangle) follows the date code. DOT supposedly prescribed date codes in 1975.
