What is the most efective way to remove the front bearing from the pinion gear?

I am planiing to degrease, sand blast, and powercoat the chunk before having a 5:13 and spool installed.

Thanks

They usually slide right off by hand. If not, remove the carrier and gently tap the pinion shaft end with a brass hammer with the nut screwed on until the end of the shaft is flush with the outside of the nut.

got it, i tried the brass hammer and i guess it did not have enough mass, but my bigger dead blow did the trick. Thanks for the help
