I have a 727 trans with lokar kick down cable.I opened the throttle to wot and pulled the lever on the trans all the way back and hooked up the cable. The trans shifted fine. Now it shifts softer from 1-2 and 2-3 also revs a little before going from 2-3.Where should the arm on trans be at idle.If i take the cable off and move the arm i can feel when it hits the valve inside trans pan.Is this this where it needs to start the travel.

I set mine up at the WOT setting and it was way to harsh and much higher rpms. I personally set mine so I had a small gap between the gray clip and the cable stop nut. I say set it up to where you like how it shifts and feels.

Oh and if you do a search here on the forum you will see a bunch of threads about this.

if you want it to shift firmer you want to shorten the cable by about 1/8 of an inch
take her for a drive and see how you like it

it takes a little bit of playing with to get it right
