Hemidenny K member club?

-
Well guess most of you know I wanted a low car so denny and I talked about designing the LASupperSlammer K. I haven't worked on my car in a while. been working on customers cars. and bout to do a cummins swap in a chevy 3500.

but I run the Lasuperslammer, 12in qa1 coilovers(possibly going shockwaves) or shorter shocks. power rack, 2in drop spindles, 13in cobra rotors and twin piston cobra calipers, 70's mustang hubs, 1in sway bar, shock hoops.

rear is parallel 4link not installed yet, lazer cut sub frame connectors.:happy1:

Guess I'll join the club. I don't know what version I have, must be the generic base model. It's sitting in a pile of parts including some RHS heads for my junker 5.9 in unopened boxes. It's a lonely parts stack waiting for attention.

The rear is minitubbed, springs re-located, sliders for rear leaf mounts. 8.8 posi has been re-built and shortened. 833 OD waiting to be rebuilt. The list goes on.

Take it from the 8-3/4 forward, kind of: Cass at DoctorDiff (all new) nodular 489 with Eaton TrueTrac and 3.91, 1350 forged yoke, 30 spline 5 x 4.5" loaded axles with 2" studs. Cass will be providing me with a new 1350 driveshaft once I get him the length. Rear drums ditched for disc conversion. Rebulit 833. Wayne at Brewer's provided reproduction pistol grip, 360 Mag 10.5 McLeod flywheel and roller bearing, clutch linkage, Centerforce dual friction 10.5" 23 spline, boots, bolts, etc. Lakewood 15320 shield (still needs to be checked with a dial indicator for correct center.) Schumacher firewall seals and accelerator cable. Denny Laube's HemiDenny K-member - absolute artwork. I'd hang it on my living room wall if it wasn't going to hang under the Dart... Mustang II 11" drilled & slotted discs with 2" drop spindles and calipers. Power rack & pinion. 22" Champion aluminum 3 row radiator.

Mopar 360/380hp P5249499 Magnum crate motor. 770 Holley StreetAvenger, Holley 110gph mechanical fuel pump, MSD digital 6A system, FlowKooler water pump, Milodon 8qt oil pan, March serpentine pulleys, PowerMaster 80amp alternator.

Couldn't pass up the deal - bought it to pull the Detroits in my 33' Blackfin Combi this winter. If bigger is better, it's the very best! An OTC electric over hydraulic, has a manually telescoping boom rated for a mere 6000 lbs. Overkill, just a little bit...

Thanks for posting all of the pics. Sounds like my Christmas list! Now must
be the real fun part with everything there and shiney new. Please post when
assembling/assembled.

Pulled all the hardware off. Need to glass bead profile the new HemiDenny parts. Will be epoxy coating all steel with DuPont 545 epoxy primer today followed with DuPont industrial satin black Imron.

Nice looking car. Must be a 74 Dart Sport? Hardly ever see that stripe. I'd like to see more pics.

1974 Dart Sport 360, yes sir... Some pics before glass bead blasting, epoxy priming and first tack coat of low gloss Imron. Painting will be finished this evening, then reassembly.

1320...have to ask....How much does that engine hoist weigh?

Not sure, picked it up with a sling bridle I have from our local Caterpillar marine dealer with their forklift and unloaded with my lift. The legs telescope also and the base turns similar to a turret.

HemiMark's Barracuda is now at HDK for it's new front suspension and
Jim's Demon is on it's way home.

Denny sent me some pics of Jim's Demon finished. The suspension looks great and from the exterior point of view it looks pretty stock. He did a great job.

I can't wait to order mine. Hopefully jan/feb. i'll be placing an order.

She's out.....and trial fitting of the HDK begins. Since this car was
previously fitted with another brand of suspension conversion, the
steering shaft and the upper shock mounts must be inspected for adaptation. No problem - just certain considerations need to be applied.

That must be an early magnumforce K-member, yeesh that looks sketchy to me.

Denny said that there was a lot of bushing deformation and wear. Look
how the springs were scuffing on the shock bodies. It had 500 pounders
and you couldn't hardly push down on the front end.

Scary, makes me think the fender was flexing and causing the shock to move enough to bind up against the spring as it compressed.
