Well I dont want to take it apart, should it be rinse with water after,I must say you do come up with some great ideas.

Water and then blow dry

Mine was out off the car so I sand blasted the contacts.

You will never get the female connectors all the way clean.Do yourself a favor and replace them with new ones while you can get to them easily.I replaced every connector in my car.Time consuming yes.But in the long run you will be glad you did

I used a small cone shaped brass brush and electrical contact cleaner. cleaned up real nice and then die electric grease upon assembly
