Depends on you area of the country. Out here it's $100 to $110 a hour. My friends shop back east is $55 to $65 a hour.

A qualified shop will want $1500/$2000 to start with depending on labor rates in your area.
Hard to find a shop worth hiring anymore for less than $100/hour.

The custom shop near me charges $65/hr, and does a pretty respectable job! They had a 70 AAR out the other day, and a Ligenfelter Vette, both really nice examples of their work!!
