Mopar Performance used to have recipes for bracket racing in their parts catalog. This is from 1997. I have screwed together a 440 and a 360 using these recipes as a guide and had great results. This is part of the 273/318 section. Note: you don't need a ton of compression to run 13.5's. I don't think they make the MP 9.0:1 piston anymore but I think there are other alternatives out there. Obviously, not all of these things need to be done to get results...

I used to have the book with all that in it. I haven't seen it in a few years. Should dig it up, I guess.

Good common sense guidelines.I still have several of the old catalogs with that info.I prefer to do a little more headwork and run a little less gear for street cars.

I have my "Speed Tips!"
To replace a 9.0-1 piston can ether be done with the stock replacements and a milled deck or a set of KB or Speed Pro's and a thick gasket. A MLS gasket of about .075 will drop that ratio right quick! This is what I'm doing on the wife's 360 right now. It will serve well until the aluminum heads hit the blocks deck with a bigger cam.
