How to store carburator

Got my carb rebuilt this summer, thought I would get the car done and the carb reinstalled late summer, WRONG. So now I am wondering how to store the carb, to keep critter and bugs, and water( the garage roof leaks) out. Been thinking of finding somekind of sealable plastic container, am I on the right track.

I put mine in a big freezer bag.

I have a rebuilt afb sealed up in a plastic bag also. The air cleaner post is topped with a spray can cap so it don't puncture the bag.
