I just got a a-833 for an a body to put in my dart. It is an iron unit and on the right side pad it is stamped B150645. I might need to clean it some more or is this right any help would be great
Thanks Kyle

Should be more numbers stamped in the pad. Something like:

PP833 xxxx xxxx

There should be a number in front of the "B" in the one you posted.

there is a pp83 5246 the 6 might be an 8
and the big number is 6b150645
the pp83 might have another 3 but it is not very clear
Now i think it is an overdrive unit becouse the first shifter lever the one by the bellhouseing is upside down
Can i take gears from a b-body four speed and put them in my a-body if i need to

The date code (5246) says its a mid 70's, and PP833 is logical. The 6B... says year 76
OD is likely

Put it in forth gear and turn the input shaft 1 turn and the output shaft should turn approx. 1 and 1/4 turns for an Overdrive. Then you'll know for sure.

well i measured the front bearing cover and it is 5.125 so it is an overdrive unit, so now i am torn to tear it apart or try to move it.
if i get a b-body a-833 can i just change the output shaft and tail houseing?
