i have a 1968 barracuda originally a 318 with a 440 from a 1973 dodge charger,

current idler arm hits slightly on the oil pan. should i be using a 1973 big block dodge charger idler arm? or stick with 1968 barracuda ?

also are the big block and small block the same?

The 69-70ish "C" body pan (699-187) has a relief on the passenger side that clears the idler arm. I haven't heard of an idler arm swap that will keep the correct geometry. The Hemi A-body pan is also a good choice. 440 Source offers a 6 quart pan for $250.
