Where is a good place to get a voltage limiter for my 65 barracuda??? Any help would be appreciated
Thanks!Real Time Engineering MOPAR Products offers solid state regulator to replace the OEM mechanical voltage limiter. Most recent threads on this subject are about 65 Dart. Pretty much same as your Barracuda.
Link does not go anywhere for me, but if this is an OEM mechanical style, there is no way. Go with modern solid state replacment such as RTEMega Parts USA - Reproduction, NOS and Used Mopar Muscle Car Parts This is a plug in one.
The OEM mechanical limiter would put out more juice at switch on so the gauge needles would climb faster. The Real Time Engineering unit was designed to mimic the mechanical gauge voltage limiters operation. Less expensive universal regulators do work if slow gauges dont bother you. This what I recommend, its output is 5 volts NOT 6 volts. My research says to use a 5 volt on Mopar's.
12v to 5v Volt Converter, DROK DC Voltage Regulator Board Power Supply Module, DC 6.3-22V 12 Volt to 5 Volt 3A 15W Waterproof Car Volt Step Down Buck Converter. Over-current protection; over-temp protection; input reverse connection protection; short-circuit protection; waterproof; dust-proof; moisture-proof; shock-proof. $12.59
Real time engineering wants $50.00 !!
