Is it just me or does it look like the entire crank has been Sand Blasted?

I think the block, crank, and heads were steel shot blasted, thats why they look that color. Same thing we did to alot of the bigger locomotive parts at work.

That crankshaft made a visit to the 'Airless Blaster', and was shot-peened.

Now, the Tuft-triding is 'ruined'.
