Jerky - question - noise

i have a 1968 barracuda 440 8 3/4 rear 727 trans.

when going from drive to reverse and the other way around its a bit ' jerky ' ' noisy ' in my opinion not much but its there a bit bothersome. :blob:

would this be something with the transmission or the rear end or drive shaft?

Usually u-joints or ring and pinion.

Excessive gearplay in the rear axle will cause noisy drive/reverse shifts.
