KEVCO pan question

I have a 6 qt kevco small block oil pan.It should take 5 qt and then run out the plug in the side of the pan.Mine runs out at 4 qts.Anyone else have the same problem.Kevco says it should take 5 they dont know why its not unless level plug is lower.

I had the same problem when filling it on the engine it might take 5 when in the car? I just added 6 with the filter.

I'm assuming you have measured the height of that side plug (then call Kevko). Assembly line mistakes do happen/workers get pissed!. if the sides are the same width and the bottom has the same contour not much else is left that could affect this

I spoke with kevco.After them telling me that they dont know how that can be the lady that owns the company spoke to another employee that has worked there for 15 years and he told her that they made a change in the location of the plug a few years back and the pan does hold 5 qts.Thanks for every ones help.It is a m301 pan
