[Found!] Lightweight Hood Hinges or Springs

I have an AAR fiberglass hood and they say I need some lightweight hood springs, but it doesn't look like they sell them. If anybody has a set that would work for this application, it would be greatly appreciated.

Will any of the k-car springs work? I found some for a 90 Plymouth Acclaim and a 91 Chrysler LeBaron.

FWD Daytona, Shadow, etc. They are not quite strong enough for a Dart Lite hood, which is 15 lbs lighter than an OEM all steel hood. I still use a prop stick in my race car. But it may be strong enough for a HD fiberglass hood. Should be cheap enough at a U-Pull-It, if you can find the cars.

Be careful removing them. I propped open the hood so it wouldn't fall and wrapped the springs in a towel during the removal process with a pry bar so it wouldn't shoot off at me or elsewhere.

I believe there was a member here called Atomic Dog who sold custom springs.
