Just got word last week that my brother is getting married. We're from southern California and he lives in South Dakota, where the wedding will be. I am not much of a flier and driving is still much cheaper anyway so my wife and I have decided to drive. Our seemingly obvious car choice for the drive is my 06 Mustang (only non-classic in the stable), but there is a big part of me that wants to take one of our classics (66 Dart or 67 Ranchero). Both are great cars but I would really worry about putting 2600 miles on them without at least one breakdown. This is something I've thought about for a long time since I've been wanting to do a long Route 66 trip for awhile.
So I wanted to post a thread asking the members here what kind of long road trips have you all taken in your classics? What kind of interesting stories/adventures have you run into on the way? What kind of breakdowns did you experience?
