Looking for part number choke thermostat for 63 170

-
Is the following the correct part number for a choke thermostat for 63 170? I can't seem to locate the part number.

NORS - Choke Thermostat - Chrysler (MOPAR) 6cyl.- 1963 thru 72 - Chry 2402528
According to my 1963 Chrysler parts book:
2402528 choke thermostat is for 170 and/or 225 engines with Holley carburetor numbers 2533, 2534, 2535 and 2536 and 2538.
With Carter 3462, 3463, 3464 and 3465 carburetors, the choke thermostat is 2402526.
Hope this info helps.

Can you find the part number for 63 170. It has the single barrel carter. I really would appreciate mine isn't looking or working to well.

You need to know which carburetor you have in order to find the correct thermostat. Look at the list of carburetor numbers I provided and see if you number is among them. It looks like you will need either a 2402528 or 2402526.

The Holley and Carter choke thermostats are fully interchangeable without problem. The bigger variable is exhaust manifold style. The choke mounting pocket groups are '60-'65, '66-'69, '70-'72, and '73+. All Slant-6 exhaust manifolds fit all Slant-6 engines, and many early manifolds have been replaced with later ones, and the only type of exhaust manifold generally available at this late date is the '73+ style. A '60-'65 choke can be tweaked (one mount hole ovalised) to fit a '66-'69 exhaust manifold, or vice versa, but it's no-go for a '60-'69 choke thermostat on a '70-'72 or '73+ exhaust manifold or vice versa.

The easy route: get one of the Electric choke kits. Use № 1231 no matter what type of exhaust manifold you have. Easy to install, and unlike the factory type unit it can be adjusted easily from up top without having to remove it from the exhaust manifold.
