low band apply

been reading about 518 swaps here and there. also been reading about low band apply issues with a 727. does the 518 have the same issues as the 727, the potential for the big bang theory?

The 518 and 727 use the same front drum, The problem is when the sprag at the rear of the case fails ,The later 518's had a better design because the sprags bolt in stock versus the press in style of the 727s. Also some of the early case 518's have a similiar press in style rear sprag as the 727's with no option of a bolt in sprag upgrade, I talked to Rick at A-A transmission he is working on one ,but nobody has one available yet as far as I know, So it depends on what year case you have for the option of a race style sprag .A upgrade to the front drum is still a great idea for safety sakes.
