I am looking to discuss the problems I have had over the past 6 months with a 1967 Dodge Dart build and the Magnum Force Transformer front suspension kit. I would like to know if anyone has had the same issues that I am encountering or have encountered.

1. Lower control arms
2. Lower control arms & the shock, coilover mount location
3. The geometry of the coil over angle
4. Fitment issue with GENIII engine (firewall clearance)
5. Steering column interference

Would love to speak with someone regarding this solution from Magnum Force. Please PM me directly and we can share contact info. I look forward to speaking with you!

don't know anyone who has used that awful looking kit. i do know their regular tube front end has been getting bad reviews about fitment, poor geometry and breaking for many many years now.. i would never buy anything suspension related from them.

ugh, I am so glad guys like Bill & Denny have stepped up to the plate and off us a Good option for aftermarket suspensions for our cars.
HDK or RMS are the only ones I would consider if I was in the market. both are Nice guys who are not afraid to answer the numerous annoying calls/emails from a PITA like me...lol

From what I've seen and heard I'd throw the GTS (Gerst Tubular Suspension) into the mix with the HDK and RMS set ups.

I wouldn't. Haven't seen or enough real world on the street feedback yet. heard good customer service but thats about it..

Just because something is in a magazine add, or looks "cool" doesn't make it a upgrade.

Very sorry for your troubles my friend but this is the Magnum engine thread, not suspension thread. hope it works out for you....how about a credit card charge back?

Hi Jim,

I just came across your post as I've been searching for others with a similar experience. I too purchased a MF K-member conversion kit and am/are having the same issues. My car is a 67 Barracuda with a Small-block and 4-speed, here's my list;
  • Took almost two months to get
  • First set of lower control arms didn't fit the k-member, (made wrong) they sent another
  • Poly bushings were mixed colors
  • No instructions until I asked and what I got was incomplete and lacked any real detail (found out when assembling the k-member to the frame that the lower control arm bump stops had to be cut off)
  • Upper control arm bump stops no longer line up correctly
  • Second set of lower control arms put the front wheels one inch too far forward (made wrong), they sent an third set
  • Had to buy motor mount "adaptors" from a third party (Schumacher Creative Services) as the ones they supplied would never work
  • Here's the biggest issue: The engine is too high in the front (using their "stock" motor mount option) and causes interference between the distributor and wiper motor, can't put the distributor cap on or have to remove the wiper motor
I am still dealing with the engine too high situation after two years and have not been able to drive the car, which is completely finished except for this. The fix is going to have to be another k-member with 1" lower motor mount spools but the last I heard they were looking for a small block engine so they can "mock it up and understand the problem better". I have not heard from them now for over a month and I am considering filing a lawsuit. I have already complained to the BBB and the California Department of Consumer Affairs and they have been able to bring this to a resolution.

the real fix is to trash that garbage and put a good system in it. just wait till you go to drive it and its all over the place because of the poor geometry,

Screw magnum force and that dickhead superstar wanna be Ron character with long hair and his persona. Get your money back.

How can this keep happening to people.... it would take 4 seconds of research on the interweb to find out the stuff is bad. RMS suspension all day everyday.... bunch of guys I know with them running engines ranging from all aluminium LS’s to 604 inch iron mega blocks. Some have been in service for 15 years now with no issues.
Everyone of us would buy again from Bill.....although if I was doing it I would give Hemi Denny a try as I already have an alterktion and like to mix it up.

Just gonna leave today’s report right here...

I am so sorry to here of this. I went through the same thing with a CAP AUTO suspension.
Spent all that money and nothing worked the guy never responded for 4 months then I find out he went out of business. Had to fork out more money.
Bought the RMS 10 years now running strong.
Get your money back while you still can. Don’t try and make it work for you, you will regret it. I spent numerous hours trying to get that to work.
Save yourself from problems down the road, literally.
Again, sorry to here this happen to another hard working person.

Yeah. This wasn’t me thankfully. I’m glad I went with Gerst. There’s a reason stuff like Magnum Force are cheaper compared to other alternatives. Quality and engineering. Give me an RMS, Gerst or Hemidenny any day.

Aaaaaaand that's why I run stock stuff
It’s not the fact that it wasn’t stock that was the problem, it’s piss poor quality control and engineering. And denial problem. This has happened several times to Magnum Forces stuff and they still think nothing is wrong

I just noticed this is a 3 year old post. Sad but I think this was the OP’s last post.
Sorry, felt it was better than posting a new thread about it when today’s report came out

OMFG!!! That is EPIC! I'm not the only one who mentions his hair! BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!

There ARE others like me!! :)

i don't know how that clown is still in business...

I`ve posted before about the M/F tubular front end I have; I got a deal on it I couldn`t pass up. It is the dragrace set up, rack/pinion, coil over/the whole bit. I built some funky strutrods to help support the lower a arms, and use a motor plate, ''no engine weight setting on the front end itself.'' Have the upper strut bars from the firewall to the frame up beside the radiator, that I tied into the shock tower top, and where the shock actually bolts up. Had a real pro (who is retiring) line it all up.
I have had no failures with any of it, altho I do keep an eye on it . My problem so far is no front end lift at all. I do need tires with more initial bite for sure, more to come ----
I did keep the complete form S front suspension out of the car, which will need rebuilt if I ever decide to use it, but I don't think my headers will clear the torsion bars ---.??????????

I don't disagree one bit, hence why I run stock stuff. Not knocking any one else in the supermarket suspension biz, but I KNOW where I stand with stock. Just my opinion. Ymmv. Not valid in Puerto Rico.
