Main Cap Removal

Just curious if anyone has found a really slick method or tool for main bearing cap removal from the block registers, especially #'s 2, 3 & 4 where access is limited. I've always used a soft mallet and tapped and rocked them but it can take a quite while in some cases given access isn't real good.
 
Soft mallet or pull a bolt out half way and tap sideways on the head. you can usually wiggle them side to side.
 
This. Or lightly tap them from the side ends to lift one side up .

Yes, those are both techniques I've used and they both do work. Sometimes the fit with the register recesses are so darn tight but that's great for accuracy.
