Got this 74 swinger all wheel drum manual, can I install a vacuum booster and make them power drum brakes? Need help as brake systems arent my strong suit... Any input is welcome...
what model cars will interchange? lika a volare82 or something for example, something easy to find in the junkyrd. Can it come from a disc car?You can but you will need to change the master cylinder and the pedal linkage. Look for one in the wreaking yard and get it all.
how much? pm mei have the master cylinder and pedal linkage. let me know
exactly what im after, good brakes that wont brake me!!There is a kit out there that uses wider hats and ceramic brake pads.....confusedcuda has them on his ride.
It was a reasonable way to get stopping power without changing his 10" drums and 4" bolt pattern.
PM him and he can tell you how they work.

Try 9" manual drums on the early a-bodies. Nerve-racking on CA freeways.
power brakes dont stop faster
disk brakes stop faster
Interesting, I've got manual discs on the spacer and i've been unable to find power booster or correct prop valve,...maybe i won't need to change them after all you say...I agree. My duster has manual disc brakes, and I don't have a problem with them at all. I actually kind of prefer them over power because I get more of a feel from the feedback through them.
