Can someone tell me where I would look to find the numbers on the 340 engine, 4 spd trans & rear end so I can match them to the VIN #

The VIN have only been stamped from '68 on.
The stamping VIN on the block and 4 speed trans. are on the passenger side.
Block = at rear, on pad, just over oil pan.

I don't know for auto trans.
Only the last eight digits are stamped. Which is model year, ***'y plant and serial number.

auto 727 vins are on the right front side of trans case......

The VIN on an automatic is on the passenger side bellhousing.
No VIN on the rear end.
No VIN on the rear end.
