mechanical water temp guage

first off, I am not sure which forum this should be in so i went general, if a moderator wishes it somewhere else please move the thread.

ok....

I bought a 3 guage set which inludes a water temp guage, voltmeter, and oil pressure guage

the water temp guage gas the sensor connected to it already with a big fat sensor on the end which they say to run through the firewall and then into the engine, having just redone my firewall and put my engine back in, i am scratching my head as to where I am suppose to run this thing and was hoping to get some insight from some of you guys who have run a mechanical water temp guage through your firewalls...

I had drilled a small hole in my firewall just big enough to run that and the tach wires through the firewall, then bought a rubber grommit for the hole so that it didnt damage the wires and looked nice.
