Went to the Mecum Auction in Dallas last week with my son. 1500 cars! Lots of cool Mopars. Prices were high. The orange Superbird went for $320K. The Daytona went for $440k. Incredible prices!

Anything an average schmuck could afford?

I’m a pretty average schmuck & there wasn’t much I thought was reasonable. We went on the last two days so we missed the cheaper stuff on the first two days. Not much Mopar at these auctions.

Be fun to check out sometime. They always make average schmucks sit on the ceiling like that?

This the first auction I have been to in Dallas. I have been to several in Kansas City.

In Kansas City, there are a lot more spectators than bidders. It was just the opposite in Dallas. There were a lot of bidders & few spectators. Bidders get the tables & close seats. However anyone can stand up front near the entrance and exits to the stage. Many bidders sit in the same stands as the spectators.

Bidder pass is $200. If you want to sit right up front & get free drinks, it costs $500.

Spectator pass is $20 a day. I think it is about the most fun you can have for $20. We walk around and look at cars until we get tired, then watch the auction. I am going to buy or sell something there one day…….

Gotcha

Yeah, I've only watched them on TV... crazy cars but I do prefer to see quality drivers over museum pieces
