So I pulled the Pushrods out of the dip bucket and cleaned then up. 2/16 were totally different, with a spiral cut pattern. Is that normal?

Run some scotch Brite over then a run them.

They probably made 500,000 or so of those on a single production run. Think how many 318's were made in 1970 and then multiply by 16 and you can see how many the factory needed.

And they may have had (probably) more than one vendor.

Totally normal.

They're out of my 440, but point taken. Just struck me as weird. Was wondering if there was a chance one side had a rocker fail/get bent and they were replaced or something.

Don't worry about it. Think about the other guy that has 14 spiral and 2 not. Is he worried too? Lol

The most important is that you got the right pushrod lenght to get correct lifter preload, after my cylinder heads rebuild I ended up with three different lenght from three different manufactures, don't ask me why but now I got correct lifter preload on all 16 lifters, I even got Ford 351C pushrods in my Mopar :)
