moving a master cylinder to the left to clear valve cover?

has anyone move the mc over without using a offset block....?

Need some extra room under the hood of the gasser?
I haven't done it to an A-body without the block.
Every car Ive built that is older than 1950 seemed to need the master cyl relocated.
Most times welding in a flat mounting section and a bit of 1" angle iron bracing on the inside to keep the firewall from flexing/cracking. Nice to be able to stand on it when you need to.

On my 72 Dart
located where I wanted the M/C
a little body work to make the firewall flat
unbolt the brake assembly
machine spacers to re attach the brake assembly
note:
there is a 4th spacer hidden in the pic
(on the left, in the 2nd pic)

Why would you not want to use the block? They really do make it very easy.

I don't like the looks of the plastic master cylinders
