These are NOT mine, however I spotted this ad while browsing Castanet. The guy has a bunch of neat stuff that he saved from the crusher, but is losing his storage yard and needs to sell, otherwise they'll be scrapped.

"I've been bringing old vehicles home over the years, saving them from the crusher and using them for my various hobbies. Now it is your turn because I am losing my storage yard this year and eventually what is left will be pancaked. Located in Creston, delivery may be available to Kelowna at cost. Don't procrastinate, I will sell engines separate from the vehicles but would rather sell the whole vehicle rather than a few pieces unless you come remove them yourself.
This is a shortened list of what is available including engines:
69-72 Chrysler Fullsize Cars with 318, 383 and 440
65, 70 and 73 Fullsize Ford cars and Wagons with 289, 302, 351W and C, 352, 390 and 460
80 Grand Prix 301, 74 LeMans 2dr 400
52 Cadillac 331, 72 Cadillac 472
46 and 52 Ford Trucks with Flathead V8
69, 70 Imperial 440"

Somebody save this '58 Chevy, Biscayne, Delray?

Lot of heavy metal there. Should make out ok in scrap value. Hard to believe people would restore cars like those with fuel at $4.00 a gallon and rising. But I guess we all have our reasons for what we do. :D

I don't think they're worth crushing at all. At the least they could be parts cars. Those imperials came with factory rear discs on 8 3/4's. And some decent big blocks to be had.
It's hard for me to be OK with crushing something because of rising fuel costs.

rising fuel costs? Shoot, how much does it cost to go through and restore an a-body? If it were just about $$, we would all be driving a geo metro or moped or something that is super cheap and gets 40+ MPG.

My Barracuda is lucky to get 10 mpg, my 59 Suburban, 13-15, my wife's 68 Mustang, no idea.... my 47 ford COE, not even started yet, should get 14.5 + (that is what the step-van chassis I am using got).....

I believe we restore old cars because we like them, not because of cost savings!

There are a couple of those I'd love to drag home!

The 52 Caddy would be the best out of the lot worth keeping.

Was that the same guy who was buying stuff to derby it?

Yes.
He tried to get me to ''donate'' some cars to him.
I didn't ''donate'' anything to him, said I could crush them myself if I wanted them gone that bad and get the money for them myself, which is all he was going to end up doing with them after he took off a part or two. What he really wanted was Imperials to derby then crush after, all others were minor league cars and would be used for parts and crushed. Those were his exact words to me.
He even had an ad on here a few years back looking for derby cars. I haven't seen him on here for a few years though.
BTW, he crushed out once 10 years ago or so.
Don't get me wrong, he's a nice enough guy to deal with, but you have to make the deal on the spot and remove your goods right away.
That's all I have to say on this forum, you all can read between the lines from here if you choose to.

The way I look at it is it's one thing to be up front about things, and it's another to be sneaky or devious.
He won't crush anything good. He's not that stupid.

Found an ad of his on CL, he has more listed than the ad above. More pics too. Also has a 66 Plymouth Satellite ragtop, big block car.

"I am losing my storage for several cars I've saved over the years, everyone knows how hard it is getting to find old cars in the Kootenays because of all the crush for $$ mentality lately. So here is your chance to bring home some parts or parts cars if you have the room.. some of these could be used to support the local Creston or Fernie demo derbys as well. Prices vary from $300 to $800. Some restorable ones are more) I've saved them from the crusher and now it is your turn to do the same.. ASAP. Call 250-402-nine47one.
