My wrecked Avenger

Does anyone know if I can take the 2.0 liter engine from my 96' avenger and install it in a 90' Eagle Talon that I can buy with a blown 2.0 liter. Both are 5 speed cars.

If they are totally different I will just scrap it, but I know the engine is good, and I need something easy on juice for my 120 mile daily commute.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are not the same engine. The Avenger has a mopar 2.0 engine where the Talon has a Mitsubishi 2.0. The 2.5 v6 available in the Avenger was a Mitsubishi but not the 2.0

Yea... 1st gens and 2nd gens are different. The motor sit in opposite directions, for one thing.

You can't throw a 420a in a 1st gen car, but you can put a 1st gen 4g63 into a 2nd gen car. BUT! You cannot put a 2nd gen 4g63 into a 2nd gen non-turbo car.

I know, I added a bit extra, but I get carried away with my dsm's.
