My fuel pump quit on my 71 swinger. The pump on the car has a tube that goes from the pump to a vent tube on the carb bowl. New pump just has the inlet and outlet for fuel. Question....do I have to hook this vent tube up? Apparently only 70-71 have this on the pump. Thanks, Russ

I saw this same question a few months ago, so search. Don't recall the result, but I think that question was "what is this extra tube for?". It is a crankcase vent tube that was conveniently put on the fuel pump. I have seen the same on non-Mopar fuel pumps (Ford Festiva). I think it goes to the charcoal canister. They must have installed a crank vent somewhere else after 1971. The PCV is also a crankcase vent, so not sure how they are supposed to work together.
