new 340 block never used or placed in a car. Brought new from Speed Unlimited in Maryland by a friend, in 1972 or 1973. I acquired this block a couple of years ago and for a build but now i have no need for it. I have R3 and X blocks to be used for upcomoing smallblock builds. I have no paperwork from the original buyer but numbers on the block will show its a Mopar replacement block. 2000.00 or best offer

The guy I got it from put some sort of heavy grease on it. When I got it about 5 or more years ago it was in good shape. I had my machinist clean it up just before I tried to sell it at Mopar at Carlisle. Since then I spray it down occasionally with WD40 and put it in a plastic bag

I am interested. Will you take $1500 (including shipping)?

I will check. I'm out of town and won't be able to send it until I return to Maryland after the 24th. I will mark it sold and take care of the transaction when I return if that's good

It appears what information is wanting to be known is...Is the block a standard bore or .020 over. The previous ad states it's .020 over and this one does not appear to mention that. Thanks

I just wanted to know if the block is standard bore or .020 over? I would think anyone wanting to buy an engine would want to know this. This seems like it should be public in the ad not private. Sorry if there is some confusion here. Have a good day sir.

Agreed. I've bought way more parts than I have sold on this site so mistakes will be made. I had to get my nephew to even post this stuff because I really don't know what I'm doing. All I know is I have, what I think are great parts, that I want to go to people who will use and appreciate them. I also know that I've never seen a un used 340 block before. I have no use for stock stuff anymore and none of the younger generation wants or even knows what it is...

The question remains...to the OP.
Is this 340 block, standard size, or .020 overbore??
Also...if you simply don't know, the block specs...just be honest about it.
It's better to be truthful, than act like you are hiding something, just my 2 cents. Good luck with the sale.

Really? Hiding what? The block I s a direct connection block bought in the early seventies at a Speed shop here in Maryland Speed Unlimited, by a good friend of mine. I have no reason to lie to you or anyone else! Either you want it ...or you don't! 340 .20 over which is I guess how reproduction blocks came from Direct Connection then. No need for luck...it will definitely sell!

Yes that's the way I understand the bore comes out to. 4.04 + .20 is 4.06 bore. Alot of people have that same question so I will check it again. Even if it is this block is perfect and has never had a piston, crank or anything in it. Just stored! So this is a perfect block for someone
