Went to Test-N-Tune Saturday.
The usaul mustangs & cameros were there.
A new 5.0 stang with exhaust, slicks & stick ran 12.80's
A new ss camero with exhaust, street tires, & stick ran 13.20's
A new 392 SRT Challenger, stock & stick ran 13.06
Then a Regular R/T Challenger, seemed stock? w/slicks & auto ran 11.98
Kinda neat to see all of these in a stones throw of each other.
Has anyone got info on the new stang/camero fighter coming from Fiat-Chrysler. Barracuda?

Personally, I hope the Barracuda name stays dead. RIP.

But if they do build it, make it kick-a**!
Lose at least 500 lbs and take no prisoners. Afterall, the 70-71 hemi cudas are still king when it comes to $$ and reputation. A tough act to follow.

This would be cool....

I'm wondering what drivetrain combos will be offered. If it is a strictly a 392 project, this car will end up pricing itself out of most of our budgets upwards of $45k.

In order for the proposed Barracuda to be competitive, it will need to weigh in the neighborhood of 3,500 - 3,600 lbs. It will need to have a 5.7 Hemi offering upwards of 450 HP. Allof this for around $30k. By 2016, Ford will be offering a new, lighter platform for the Mustang. The 5.0 is already at 420 HP. It is around 3,600 lbs. Currently, the 5.0 Mustang is the one to beat. If Chrysler is serious about competing here, the new Barracuda needs to be light, powerful AND inexpensive. If Chrysler makes this happen, I will trade my 5.0 in for one.
