new gas tank

got one off ebay with a new sending unit, tank looks just like the old one but the sending unit is different and wont fit in the tank right, has anyone else had this experience ?:violent1:

Use the old sending unit lock ring (the metal collar) as the new ones are thinner and won't seal properly.


You may have gotten the wrong sending unit. Sometimes the ebay sellers don't know or mislead you to get the sale....

yep looks like I am gonna have to buy another sending unit, coulda saved about $50 on the tank if I would have known. 10/4 on the old ring , thanks.
