New steering box seems very tight

I just got my remanufactured manual steering box from "carsteering. com. I can hardly turn the bare spline with my hand. Is that normal? It seems very tight.

I just got my remanufactured manual steering box from "carsteering. com. I can hardly turn the bare spline with my hand. Is that normal? It seems very tight.

Just got an instruction sheet from them on adjusting preload on the bearing in the back of the shaft.

Not really.. I would need the worm shaft adjustment tool and I don't have that and if you mess with it yourself and then ask for another they might say you screwed it up.. I'd just rather take it to town
