ok got the confiendence i need to install my hei on my truck, but a couple questions first:
what should timing be?
initial?
mechanical?
vacuum?

where do i find ported vacuum on my engine?

will my haynes manual tell me this?

looking to do this tonight so any fast help would be great, thank you all for all of your help

Stock cam, mild performance cam, great big thumper?

Compression ration?

What is the exact distributor model/ part number and what is the advance curve?

Initial- what it wants for highest vac on the unported port. then adjust idle
vacuum- later
full mech- total 36 or lower, adjust dist; to have initial minus full 36
vac; plug up to ported and play. don't be surprised to see a total of 45 to 50. normal.
