When sizing a turbo, how do know which one to use? After you figure the math part. Like on my engine p/r is 1.68 and my lbs/min is 58.8, this for a 400/451. Please remenber that I am new to turbocharging and just want to learn.

thanks Walt

A lot involved with finding the correct size turbo for your application. V.E. is important but reading a compressor map is as important. I called a turbo dealer and gave him my complete setup and what my goals were. He pointed me in the right direction.

There is a STICKY at the top of this FORUM called "THE TURBO BIBLE".

:wack:

Right smack dab in the middle of the Turbo Bible is a section about SIZING a turbos' specs to a given engine.

Many airflow formulas, calculations, and general information.

It is complex to explain, so I will not waste my time writing out a whole explanation, so you can graze across my reply and criticize what I say, and get absolutely nothing useable out of it.

Go READ the Turbo Bible....play with some formulas and calculations....size your own....or call Precision Turbo and they will walk you through a size comparison.

yey!
